A while ago I did a poster for Karen's fundraising event (All in illustrator).

I probably got overwhelmed with the stuff in the poster so it is a bit unorganized, but after all, I was glad that I can help Karen to make a poster.

Karen is the director of Enrich The World, which is a 100% volunteer-based, non-profit organization. Today actually (12/8), is the day for the event "17-for-17", which is what this poster is about.

Solidworks

Solidworks is one of the softwares I am in love with.
So far I have produced two renderings. The first one is a whole set of chess and a board. The horse piece is designed by me, and others are chess designs found on the internet. The whole point of it was to get to know solidworks better

The second rendering is a toy I found. I think my friend Vince left it with me when he left New York. These toys have been extremely helpful..there was another one that I made it into a bottle stopper which I chopped the legs off and replaced it (if I find a picture of it I will post it).

More projects are coming to me now that I am doing free art work and rendering for people on craigslist. This guy wants me to render a giant jewelery sculpture in a room with anti-gravity walls...I am not sure what he means...but I will see when he send me his sketches. Really excited actually.

I have a new vision for life.

I am going to walk on that road. The road that everyone, probably including myself, would stop me from taking.

Here is a thing, I have a vision. When I have a vision, I have to believe in my vision. There’s nothing else I believe in other than my vision and the power of love.

I’ve decided that I want a life of either triumph or destroy but nothing else. Because only triumph equals destroy and destroy equals triumph. Everything else is a waste of time.

From now on, I will only listen to myself, because I know everyone loves me and everyone wishes me to do this for me. Everybody. I trust everybody.

Eventually I will become nothing, and that will be the eternal of my soul. Before I become nothing, my soul will catch on fire. I will be no ordinary. I will be a fever. I will be as irresponsible as possible. I will have countless wishful thinking. I will fall in and out of love repeatedly. I will love myself, hate myself, and do everything as I wish. Everything as I wish will be done as long as my soul is on fire. I will feel the energy of living. The energy of hate and love colliding in this world.

I am on my way to be famous

I played @ Bar4 open mike tonight. I played the Pathetique Sonata 2nd movement and La Valse D'Amélie by Yann Tiersen.

I went on the stage and told everyone "Hi, I am just a college student, and I am from taiwan. I am going to play classical music actually". People laughed and cheered. Someone said, "Go get it, home girl".

I performed. People liked it, of course, because they are nice people. I smiled every time I made a mistake on the notes, probably about 20 times. Right after I finished, some people were trying to talk to me, but I just wanted to leave the place. I didn't stay to listen to other people's performances because I didn't really care. The piano was nice. The quality was clean and crisp. I was in love with every note I played. As soon as the songs were done, I fell right out of love. I am not worried, because I know love is still there and always will be.

I think I want to go back next week, and I will sing some songs. I am on my way to be famous.

I woke up and I saw this. Ghost in the shell coming to life? I want to be just like her. Famous, and really creepy.

She is a nurse who does lots of wonderful things for people. She is beautiful. She has no emotion she will never get hurt from feelings. She is strong and polite. I am jealous.

Thou I am not a graphic design major, I am taking a class called "Design Procedure". The whole point is that I get to use Adobe as much as possible. Industrial Design doesn't give a shit about teaching us these programs. I figured I have to use as much sources as possible from Pratt while I am still a student here. Sometimes, I pretty much wish the computer lab never closes. :<

So far I have done a music poster, which the graphic is pretty good but I struggled with fonts so much (don't know anything about Typographic is a big problem).

After this project, I did a illustrator file of the google map. Basically I took a screen shot of my neighborhood, and try to recreate the same image in illustrator by tracing it. It was a good practice and pretty much a piece of cake, but the whole idea of creating vector images totally blew me away. (Sometimes I get really excited in class over a new trick my professor shows us, and the whole class think I am really strange, oh well).

The current assignment, which is to create 3 postcards for tourism, is really pushing me to develop a love-hate relationship with Illustrator. Creating images on illustrator makes me want to just draw a curve on paper without converting points every single time. (There must be a way to convert all the points at the same time! I don't believe I am using the most efficient way..)

Anyways, about this project, I have chosen the capital of Zambia, Lusaka, as my tourism place. (I am all about Africa). The first place is Kafue national park, and I want people to know that they can see lots of hippos! So there...is pretty straight forward:

The 3rd one, like the hippo one, is really straight forward. Is basically about a chimp sanctuary in that area, so I used a huge chimp face :) I have to go to Zambia someday, perhaps when I saved up enough money...

My solidworks teacher says, "In the world of computer, we are gods." Doesn't matter we are good or not, in the world of computer, we are in control. Without our instructions, there is nothing but just programs. All we have to do is keep making, and keep getting better.

1st Entry

   I have decided to keep a blog once again after all. The purpose of this blog is less about emo writings, complications and depressions in life. This isn't like tumbler where random posts and google imagines being thrown into the page. This is not like facebook which includes millions of status and links that aren't put out there cleverly.
   Sometimes you feel embarrassed just by looking through the history of your facebook and tumblr, but the truth is, you just want to keep going. We learn from mistakes and they sure do keep us going; therefore, we must keep making mistakes! Same mistakes should not be repeated, but we are in love with new exciting mistakes ) No struggle = No fun.
   I am going to post more pictures I take, more design ideas, more music and more everything that makes life interesting and healthy!

   To begin with something recent. Halloween this year was not very eventful for me because I was too crazy over soldering a wire frame car model (picture will be posted). However I did go out on friday night on a mission of seeking a frog, requested by a friend:

I don't really know who this dude is but he fulfilled the assignment, kind of. The other parties I was at the same night was busted by cops, and that was kind of fun too.
